SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A "now hiring" sign hangs on the John W. Lundy Conference Center at the Little League International Complex in South Williamsport. Even though the Little League World Series is a few months away, the organization is preparing by looking for part-time help.
"We're just looking for some additional support. We have great volunteers and groups that come here and support the event. There's also a lot of paid opportunities that people can come support the event, really be on the ground level to bring this amazing experience to life for kids from around the world," said Brian McClintock, senior communications executive at Little League International.
Little League is looking to hire 200 to 300 part-time employees. The hiring process is already underway and will continue up until the first pitch.
"Individuals are able to come and identify the positions where they think their talents and skills will be able to support this event the most, and the experiences for all of our kids around the world that are coming to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in the Little League Baseball World Series," said McClintock.
No prior experience is needed to work at the World Series. Little League is looking to fill positions for security, events staff, and retail operations.
"Those people who are here throughout the day, it's a 24-hour operation here during the Little League Baseball World Series. We take that fan experience and fan safety are very important and paramount to us, so having people in the right positions, the right opportunities from that standpoint," said McClintock.
