Officials shutting down bar in Lycoming County

Police were called to the Shamrock Bar for a report of shots fired last month.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Lycoming County District Attorney is shutting down a bar in Williamsport.

Officials say the Shamrock Bar and Grill along West Fourth Street will close due to a rise in shootings and gang violence.

Just last month, police were called to the bar for reports of shots fired. No one was injured, but several cars were damaged.

District Attorney Tom Marino said this bar has been a problem in Williamsport for years, and that closing the bar will have a positive impact in the community.
