Businesses in Lycoming County participate in Easter Egg Extravaganza

An almost two-week-long Easter egg hunt involving multiple businesses has kicked off in Lycoming County. Both adults and children are encouraged to participate.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — If you're in the Williamsport area this week, be on the lookout for Easter eggs. You might find one at a number of businesses in the area.

The idea for an egg hunt came from the folks at The Graphic Hive, a marketing and apparel company in South Williamsport.

"Hopefully people who know about the graphic hive will get to know about these other businesses and vice versa—these other businesses might get to be a little bit more aware of The Graphic Hive," said John Yogodzinski, The Graphic Hive Owner.

The Easter Egg Extravaganza started last Monday and ends this Friday.

"Some are just starting up for their season, or they might only be open on the weekends; I couldn't really set a day and time to do it, and I've also encouraged some of our participants like, hey, if you just want to randomly give them out to clients, go ahead," said Yogodzinski.

Easter eggs were given out to 15 businesses, including the Brickyard Restaurant and Ale House in Williamsport. Each egg contains a piece of candy and a prize ticket that can be redeemed at The Graphic Hive.

"You can win a free t-shirt, or money towards an order, or something like that, so we got a lot of little surprises," said Yogodzinski.

"We've handed out a few of the eggs, no one's actually come in asking for them yet, but we're just at the beginning of the second week here," said Tony Ecker, Brickyard Restaurant and Ale House Owner.

Businesses that take part in the event also get a prize.

"If one of the host businesses gives out the big prize which is $100 towards an order, they also get $100 towards an order so it's kind of a neat little fun benefit for them," said Yogodzinski.

So far, three out of 100 easter eggs have been found.

Here is a list of businesses taking part in the Easter Egg Extravaganza: The Brickyard Restaurant and Ale House, Stonehouse, Crooked Goose, Lycoming College, Penn College, Wagging Tail Coffee, Samek Art Museum, Alabaster Coffee, T Ross Brothers, New Trail, Bullfrog Brewery, Today Farm, PB + J Bar, and Make Art Supplies.
