LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. — A man intentionally set his basement bedroom on fire in Lycoming County, state police said in their press release. Two others also live in the home.

In the early morning of July 6, police went to the home on Musser Lane after a report of a house fire. The Fire Marshal was called in to investigate, police said.

They found that the basement bedroom was intentionally set on fire by the man, who ran away from the home during the investigation.

He came back to the scene and police believed he shared "contradicting information" on where he was before and after the fire.

Police arrested the man, now identified as Tyler Newman, and charged him with arson. His bail was set to $100,000.

The two other homeowners, Randal Harrison and Norma Harrison, were not injured, but the house faces damages of an estimated $50,000 or more, police said in the press release.
