MUNCY, Pa. — This year, the borough of Muncy welcomed the annual Lycoming Veterans Day Parade.
Many people came out to support the veterans they know and those who served before them.
"Yeah, first time in Muncy, and he's a veteran, so we're here to honor them," said Deborah Moore, Muncy.
"I'm honoring my father who was in WWI or WWII and my grandfather who was in WWI," said Wesley Egli, Picture Rocks.
Canon Hoover brought two foreign exchange students, one from Brazil and the other from Europe, "We thought it would be important for them to come out and see just how important our military is to America," he said.
They are here to support Hoover's brother in the parade.
"We have a strong ancestry of family members that served in the military, and so it's something that he holds very dear to himself. Pennsylvania itself has a strong military history," said Canon.
South Main Street in Muncy was filled with crowds of people showing pride and honor for its strong military history.
"It's great. It's great. It's, you know, the guys who did Vietnam. They didn't get this, but everybody else is getting it, and it's good," said Sam Glasmire, Nazareth.
"Service means a lot to me. I served, and i appreciate it and I want them to know that they're appreciated," said David Gilbert, Montoursville.
A variety of floats paraded to showcase their pride, along with vintage cars and local bands.
One float will be declared the winner of this year's parade, "Terrific, I love to see it. It's just uplifting," added Gilbert.
Like many others, they came out not only to show their pride but to honor those who fought for it.
