Man wanted in Lycoming County homicide arrested in Connecticut

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A 33-year-old man wanted for killing a man in Lycoming County has been captured in Connecticut, federal authorities said.

Benjamin Villanueva is accused of shooting down 29-year-old Jermaine Derick Mullen on Dec. 9 in Williamsport.

U.S. Marshals, Connecticut state troopers and Hartford police officers arrested Villanueva on Thursday at a home on Main Street in Hartford, the Marshals said.

Police say Villanueva shot and killed Mullen before dawn Dec. 9 on the 1000 block of Memorial Avenue in Williamsport. Mullen was struck several times and died at the scene.

Villanueva is jailed in Connecticut as a fugitive from justice and will be sent back to Pennsylvania. According to court filings, he faces charges including criminal homicide, aggravated assault and robbery.
