Fire consumes Lycoming County home

The fire in Porter Township broke out a little after 7 a.m.

JERSEY SHORE, Pa. — Fire crews in part of Lycoming County spent Sunday morning dousing flames at a home near Jersey Shore.

The fire at 281 River Road, Porter Township, broke out at 7:07 a.m., authorities said. Video footage taken from the scene shows the roof of home collapsed.

While fighting the blaze, firefighters called a second alarm to bring in more help. They were still there early Sunday afternoon.

It was unclear how the fire started or if anyone was injured.

Lycoming County assessment records show the property is owned by Ethan Crist. Attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
