WILLIAMSPORT -- People from all over the country are in the Williamsport area this weekend for one biggie of a car show.

One of the biggest car shows in the country is in Williamsport this weekend. But where are the cars? The owners say they aren't taking any chances because of earlier rain. So most of the cars will stay inside until judging.

"This show here will feature about 645 cars that are the best of the best," Stan Kulikowski said.

This is the Grand National Meet, which is sponsored by the Antique Automobile Club of America. Every car here has won an award before. So, it's champions competing against champions.

"They have to be what's called senior level car, which you have to work your way up through the ranks through the antique automobile club level to get to a senior. Only seniors are eligible to come so they're like the best of the best to get that far," Michael Smith said.

This is the first year the Grand National Meet is in Williamsport. Every other year it's held on the east coast. Next year it's in Kansas City. People from all over the country brought cars.

"As far west as Wisconsin. I've seen license plates here from Connecticut. I talked to a guy today from Florida," Kulikowski said.

We also ran into someone who didn't have to drive far.

"Ten minutes from my house. I couldn't bring five cars any other way," Smith said.

Business owners are also excited about the car show because it's helping out the local economy here in Williamsport.

"Oh it helps small businesses around here and obviously hotels and other restaurants also," Croce Maiorana said.

As for all of these trailers, for now, we'll have to just imagine what's inside.

"There's everything from model t's to motorcycles to firetrucks to superbirds and corvettes. So there's quite a range," Smith said.

The people we spoke with recommend getting there around 9 a.m. if you want to come to the car show. Judging starts at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public at Penn College, on Third Street in Williamsport.
