The fundraiser kicked off on Saturday at the Loyalsock Hotel and continues on Sunday.

MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. — A fundraiser in Lycoming County is heating up this weekend to help people stay warm for the rest of winter.

The third annual 'Hats for Heat' event kicked off on Saturday morning at the Loyalsock Hotel near Montoursville.

There were hats and food for sale, as well as a basket raffle.

Ten percent of the hotel's sales were also donated to the cause.

Hats for Heat was started by Reeder Brothers Fuel Services, as a way to raise money for customers who can't afford to fill their heating oil tanks.

"The list of people has definitely got longer this year as opposed to last year, so the funds needed obviously need to grow and I think were doing a good job on that with the community," said Vince Reeder with Hats for Heat.

All profits go right back into people's oil tanks.

The fundraiser also runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Loyalsock Hotel.
