LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. — A man is dead after colliding with a garbage truck as it performed a U-turn on U.S. Highway 15 southbound in Lycoming County on Friday November 29.

Around 5:30 a.m. police were called to the crash in Clinton Township, just south of its intersection with McNett Road. The crash killed the driver who collided into the garbage truck, James Haddix. The two occupants of the garbage truck were uninjured. The crash also shut down Route 15 for several hours, until 9 a.m. when police were able to safely reopen the road.

After an investigation state police concluded that Haddix was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The posted speed limit of that section of Route 15 is 55 miles per hour.
