UPDATE: Fire that displaced four people in Lycoming County ruled accident

Fire crews were dispatched after a fire spread at a home in Loyalsock Township

LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. — UPDATE: State police in Montoursville have ruled the fire an accident. Investigators determined the fire started from an electrical failure. 

It caused more than $233,000 in damage.

Four people are displaced, one dog was rescued, and two cats are missing after a fire sparked at a home in Loyalsock Township on Thursday afternoon. 

Fire crews were dispatched just before 3 p.m. Upon arrival there was heavy fire over the garage area.

The fire spread quickly but was under control in about 20 minutes.

The cause is under investigation by PSP Fire Marshall.

No Injuries were reported.
