Victim in Williamsport double-homicide laid to rest

Friends and family bid a final farewell to a firefighter who was killed in a double homicide last week in Williamsport.

JERSEY SHORE, Pa. — People lined the streets of Jersey Shore on Thursday as a procession of tankers and fire trucks drove by. They were paying their final respects to Lt. Ronald Dailey, a member of Independent Hose Company.

"It's just a very tragic situation that we all have to come together and have a large crowd, which is really nice," Lycoming County Sheriff Mark Lusk said.

Williamsport police say Dailey, 37, and 37-year-old Alisha Seese were shot and killed not long after they left work late last Thursday night. The two worked in security and were leaving Lycoming Engines in Williamsport.

Lycoming County Sheriff Mark Lusk met Dailey when he moved to Jersey Shore about 15 years ago.

"He helped me at the house with a lot of the landscaping that I did. Hard worker, good-natured, cocky smile, always had a one-liner," Sheriff Lusk said.

Dailey was a proud member of the Independent Hose Company for 15 years.

"He was the kind of member that did anything that needed to be done that wasn't really the glorified work. The kind of work that you need done that some members don't do, but Ron always was willing to do," Sheriff Lusk said.

Dailey and other firefighters were recognized for bravery in 2020 when they pulled a man out of a burning building. His viewing and funeral were at the fire station.

"You take a piece of Ron Dailey with you whenever you go on calls now, even a larger piece because he's always going to be in everybody's hearts, and everyone will think of Ron when they go on calls," Sheriff Lusk said.

Officials say there is a person of interest in custody at this time. Investigators have not said how this person is connected to the victims but said the person is being held on charges stemming from a protection-from-abuse order. Investigators ask anyone with information to contact the Williamsport Bureau of Police.
