LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. — Many in Lycoming County have been hit hard by the Tropical Storm Debby.
The Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company has opened an emergency shelter to help the community. Many people have been unable to return to their homes because of the flooding.
Earlier tonight, volunteers hosted a dinner for those who have been affected.
"We have seen flooding in places we've never seen flooding before. All the people here, we've been helping since yesterday about 10 o'clock in the morning and will continue to help until five o'clock tomorrow night when everybody's gonna be allowed to go back home," said Nathan Confer, Hepburn Township Fire Chief.
The fire chief says the Red Cross has also been helping, and PEMA is assessing the damage.
