LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP — A man is dead after being shot in Lycoming County.

State police identified the man  as Ty Kimble, 40, of Montoursville.

Police say Kimble’s life came to an end in the early morning hours when a woman shot and killed him on Warrensville Road near Montoursville.

Investigators said Kimble and a woman were in a vehicle on around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Troopers said the woman was behind the wheel when an argument turned physical and deadly. After shooting Kimble, police say she called 911.

Police said the victim managed to make it out of the car, but was found dead by the side of the road.

Investigators said the couple was not married, but may have lived together sometimes.

People we spoke with say when they saw this stretch of Warrensville Road closed for more than eight hours they assumed it was a crash, not a shooting.

They say this area of Lycoming County is known for scenery, not violence.

“I got the chills immediately. You don’t hear of things like this, in this neighborhood. [It] kind of scares me a lot,” said Cheryl Hall of Loyalsock Township.

“Very surprised, very, but these days these things happen,” said Clarann Philbin of Loyalsock Township.

The woman was taken into custody, but has not been charged at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

State police are continuing to investigate.
