Bear cubs rescued from tree in Lycoming County

The baby bears were pulled from a large evergreen in South Williamsport.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Firefighters and game wardens in Lycoming County reunited two bear cubs with their mother on Thursday.

Members of the South Williamsport Fire Department and Pennsylvania Game Commission wardens use a ladder truck to reach the cubs about 60 up in a tree, according to a post on Facebook.

The mother bear was secured by the game wardens before the rescue attempt.

The game wardens will take the animals to a more remote area in the mountains of Lycoming County.
