KINGSTON -- Wild weather Wednesday night in Luzerne County knocked down trees, took down utility lines, and tore down fences.
From trees blocking roads to debris making messy yards all over in Kingston, 50 mile per hour winds and heavy rain did thousands of dollars of damage across the Wyoming Valley.
At a home on Second Avenue, a branch from a tree smashed right into the back window of this car.
Next door, another branch toppled onto the home pulling down utility lines with it.
"Unbelievable! I thought I'd wake and it was a dream, but it's not, it's actually there," said Anna Marie Karzesinski.
Farther down the block on Second Avenue, a tree crashed through a porch and cut power to the house.
"I heard the wind banging, and then a bang!" recalled Tom McCormick.
People who live on Second Avenue don't ever remember a thunderstorm doing damage like this in the month of February.
"A lighting storm like that this time of year is just crazy!" said Kenneth Golanoski.
"This was a light show! I mean there was bolts of lightning all over the place," McCormick added.
Authorities are warning people to cut tree branches away from their homes in anticipation of any future storms.
