KINGSTON TOWNSHIP -- Hundreds of students at Wilkes University got off campus and got to work Saturday morning.
The students visited The Lands at Hillside Farms near Dallas to help with clean up around the farm.
It was one of about 25 places groups of students visited throughout the day.
The community-wide volunteer event is called "The Big Event" and students clean up trash, rake leaves, paint fences, and provide other help to organizations.
Wilkes University says about 350 of its students participated in The Big Event throughout Luzerne County.
Other locations included Wilkes-Barre YMCA, Blue Chip Farms, Ruth's Place, JCC Camp at Harvey’s Lake, Back Mountain Trail, and Balance Yoga.
