WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The sun shined on everyone watching the parade in the Diamond City, and the sidewalk was packed with people bundled and ready to ring in the holidays.

Wilkes-Barre's parade featured polka bands, firetrucks, and of course, the man in red.

Many children were looking to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas, while adults were to get into the holiday spirit.

"I'm gonna ask him for, I want a new iPhone," said Alex Hayes, Ashley.

"I see all the happy little children out and everything and the costumes and the hats and everything, and it's so it brings some good cheer to me," said Gloria Perez-Barkaszi, Wilkes-Barre.

The parade traveled through the city to Public Square and ended at North Main Street and Union Street.

After the parade ended, folks gathered in Wilkes-Barre's Public Square for the city's Christmas tree lighting.
