WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A homeless encampment will soon be cleared out of a park in Wilkes-Barre.
Wilkes-Barre City Mayor Brown announced Monday that the encampment in the Riverfront area of Kirby Park will be thoroughly cleaned beginning Thursday morning.
City officials say the area poses significant health and welfare issues to residents who use the park as well as first responders who receive frequent calls there.
The cleanup is expected to be complete by Friday evening.
