WHITE HAVEN, Pa. — Residents of White Haven Borough gathered Saturday evening in Linesville Park to begin a year of celebrations for the anniversary with a Winterfest.
The event included campfires, live music, food trucks, and a fireworks display.
"It's a party 200 years in the making, so we're pretty excited. We're actually here in Linesville Park, which was the site of the first settlement here. So we're at the place where the first house was here in the borough," said John Zugarek, White Haven.
Officials say this celebration is the first of many ways it will acknowledge the bicentennial throughout the year.
