LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Many of the houses on Delaware Avenue in West Pittston are decked out for Halloween.
Neighbors are getting ready for a very busy night.
"We go all out," said Katrina Blannett."We're expecting a big crowd tonight. I know last year we had about 2,500 kids."
"We're expecting 3,000 to 4,000 people," said Tom Pugliese.
"They come from everywhere; they're not just from here in West Pittston," John Phillips said. "Up from Lackawanna County, Susquehanna, even down towards Berwick; it's just become a destination."
Trick-or-treaters come for more than just the candy, but for a sense of nostalgia too.
"The lightheartedness of it all, just taking us back to our childhood in a way, and like the memories of it all," Blannett said. "I used to trick-or-treat to their house when I was little, and it's so cool. I get to live next to them now and kind of do my own show."
"The community basically comes together. They're all doing it for the benefit of everybody around here, and just it's like old-school neighborhood," Phillips said.
While some neighbors have been working on their walk-through displays for weeks, many have not put out their displays until Halloween, so don't be shocked if you run into a surprise or two if you decide to swing by.
