WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — New tonight, we now know that police in Wilkes-Barre were alerted to a homicide through a counselor.

According to newly unsealed search warrants, a counselor first reported a possible homicide on Carlisle Street to police back in February.

Desiree Linnette told the counselor that an eight-year-old witnessed Jason Race and Faith Beamer murder Nicole Cuevas and bury her in the basement of the home in April of 2023.

Another witness also reported to investigators that the 8-year-old told them about witnessing the murder.

Through the course of the investigation, police also obtained a warrant for Linnette's cell phone data. Linnette had claimed she was not staying at the home when the murder happened.

Investigators also discovered weapons and other evidence at a storage unit William Wolfe was leasing, and in the garage of an associate he had asked to store items for him.

Wolfe, Race, Beamer, Linnette, and Linnette's daughter Sarai Doyle were all charged with Cuevas murder.
