WILKES-BARRE -- Hugo Selenski's family along with family members of both victims sat inside the courtroom as the verdict was read Wednesday night.
Just moments before that verdict was read inside the courtroom, the family of the victims, Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett, sat holding hands saying, "It`s been a long time coming."
A jury found Selenski guilty of first degree murder for both victims.
As their families walked out of the Luzerne County Courthouse they were arm and arm with the prosecutors.
Family members told Newswatch 16 they are too exhausted to comment just now.
The trial lasted 14 days, but for them it's been nearly 13 years since their relatives were killed.
Selenski's family was in tears as the verdict was read in court and speechless as they left the courtroom.
One of Hugo Selenski's brothers was taken in handcuffs out of the courtroom. There is no word why.
Selenski was the last person to leave the Luzerne County Courthouse after he was found guilty of 8 of the 10 charges in this double murder trial. He refused to comment on the guilty verdicts or his upcoming sentencing.
On Tuesday the jury will come back and will start the process of deciding if Selenski will get life in prison or the death penalty.
