DRUMS, Pa. — A fire company in Luzerne County hosted a benefit for one of their own on Sunday.
A paramedic named Gabby is recovering from heart surgery and unable to work. So, Valley Regional Fire and Rescue stepped in to help.
The benefit in Drums included tricky trays, a basket raffle, and the main draw was a spaghetti and meatball dinner.
"Today, we want to help out Gabby, as a family here at the Valley Regional Fire Department because she is a dear friend, a hard worker, she goes out there every day and saves lives. A lot of times she's sicker than our patients, but you wouldn't know that because she gives a smile people love to see," said Joe Lomino of Valley Regional Fire and Rescue.
All the proceeds from the event here in Luzerne County will go to Gabby.
