Two plead guilty in connection with animal abuse case

Terik Wiggins and Shaniqwa Scott pleaded guilty Monday to animal cruelty charges.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Two people have pleaded guilty in connection with an animal abuse case in Luzerne County.

Police say Terik Wiggins and Shaniqwa Scott dumped Nova, a pit bull mix, in Pittston back in 2021. She was found starving and covered in fleas.

In February of 2023, the pair were taken into custody.

On Monday, Wiggins pleaded guilty to aggravated cruelty to animals, and Scott pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals.

Nova has since been adopted by Pittston's former police chief.
