LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Just days after an assassination attempt on his life, former President Donald Trump has named a running mate in JD Vance of Ohio.
"America has been screaming for younger politicians, and I think this definitely brings to the table," said Rob O'Donnell, WILK Radio Host
WILK Radio host Rob O'Donnell was live on the air when Vance was named by Trump that's when the phones started to ring.
Ken from Hanover thinks JD Vance is too much of an unknown name in the Republican party and doesn't add much to Trump's campaign.
"I assume this is going to help him carry Ohio, but I don't necessarily know if he needed help carrying Ohio this time around. I'd rather us keep a republican senator as a republican senator, and maybe he should have taken the governor from North Dakota or Virginia," said Ken of Hanover.
Turning 40 in early August, Vance would be one of the youngest Vice President's if Trump were to win a second term.
A change Max of Mountain Top says is needed, especially in an election where the candidates' ages have been a main talking point.
"He's young enough to survive 8 years as President in the future. He's a former senator, former military man, he was top of his class at Yale. What more do you want," said Mx of Mountain Top.
The republican national convention in Milwaukee runs until Thursday.
Both Trump and Vance are expected to accept their nominations later this week.
