LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots collection is officially underway, and one club in Luzerne County is helping to kickstart the season.
The Hanover Township Lions Club held a kick-off event Tuesday to help spread the word and offer families information about how to apply to receive toys this holiday season.
The program has been providing Christmas gifts to children in need since 1991.
"It makes me feel very proud, and seeing the guardians or the parents, seeing their faces, and knowing that their kid will have a holiday and that their kid will have a smile this holiday makes me feel very proud," said SSgt. Artris Almengo, U.S. Marine Corps.
If you would like to join in on the fun, the Lions Club will hold its 9th annual Stuff the Truck event on Sunday, December 8th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Luzerne County.
