WILKES-BARRE -- An investigation is underway into another Wilkes-Barre Area School District employee, the sixth in the last two weeks.

An internal investigation is ongoing after a teacher at Dodson Elementary in Wilkes-Barre was arrested for a possible DUI earlier this week, less than two weeks after five other district employees were suspended for violating the district's alcohol and drug policy.

According to Wilkes-Barre police, Christopher Gray, 30, was arrested after an officer responded to a crash on Reliance Drive on Wednesday. Charges are pending.

This all comes after five other school district employees at the GAR Junior-Senior High School were suspended with pay after allegations they violated the school's drug and alcohol policy less than two weeks ago.

The Wilkes-Barre Area Superintendent told Newswatch 16 the following:

"We are investigating a possible DUI situation but will not comment further because it is a personnel matter."

For people in Wilkes-Barre, especially those near Dodson Elementary, it's surprising hearing that another teacher in the Wilkes-Barre area is being investigated.

"You know, nobody is a saint. Whether you're a teacher, doctor, lawyer, everybody drinks, but it's a shame," said Frank Blaum.

Rose Mary Monseur went to Dodson Elementary back in the day and it breaks her heart seeing how the area has changed, and how the schools are changing as a result.

'I'm very surprised because that never happened when I was younger," Monseur said.

Both investigations are ongoing.
