LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Some voters in Luzerne County may have to resubmit their ballots after reports of ballots received with incorrect spelling.

The Luzerne County Bureau of Elections announced that voters in the 19th Legislative District reported issues with the incorrect spelling of Representative Alec J. Ryncavage's last name.

The Bureau of Elections and the Department of State decided to cancel the ballots issued to about 6,700 impacted voters and send the correct ballots. Voters impacted can expect a postcard via mail to inform them of the situation and the anticipated timeframe for the arrival of their new ballot.

An investigation into how the spelling error went to print is ongoing.

If voters do not receive a ballot via mail by October 26, 2024, they can contact the Bureau at 570-825-1715. Or visit the Bureau in person or vote provisionally on Election Day.
