WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Luzerne County Treatment Court Alumni Association held their first Sober Softball Tournament at Kirby Park.
The Wilkes-Barre Police Department joined in on the fun as well as players from local halfway houses.
Organizers say staying sober and having fun is what it's all about.
"I think the most important part of this whole thing is seeing people smile. Even though sometimes we are placed in these situations, we find the good in these situations. Knowing that I can even bring my son around here and not have to worry is a great feeling," said Megan Vanderburg, President of Alumni Association for Treatment Court.
Organizers say they hope to keep growing and holding events like this in Luzerne County.
