One of the people caught up in the Luzerne County corruption scandal has been disbarred.
The state Supreme Court says Robert Powell of Mountain Top can no longer practice law in Pennsylvania.
In 2009, Powell pleaded guilty to failing to report a crime and tax charges.
He used to be a co-owner of the juvenile detention center near Pittston.
The feds accused him of funneling nearly $1 million to former judges Michael Conahan and Mark Ciavarella to keep the center up and running.
