One dead in Route 11 crash in Luzerne County

Troopers responded to a vehicle crash around 10:30 p.m. Friday in Union Township.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A roadway is open again after a deadly crash in Luzerne County on Friday night.

Fire police had closed Route 11 in Shickshinny and at Main Road in the Hunlock Creek Area after a vehicle crash.

According to State Police, 56 year old Michael Faruolo of Shickshinny died when his SUV ran off the road, hitting a guide rail and a utility pole. Faruolo died at the scene.

Route 11 reopened early Saturday morning.
