Restoration project preserving history in Wilkes-Barre

The Irem Temple Restoration project "University" held a trivia-style event on Wyoming Valley history.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — History buffs came together in Wilkes-Barre to become experts on Wyoming Valley history.

The Irem Temple Restoration project "University" held a trivia-style event on Thursday night.

The "P-h-d" project at this "University" is creating content for the NEPA Heritage Center in the Irem temple building.

The center will provide support and resources to future history projects.

"I am very excited because not only will the building come alive, but I think all of the surrounding area will benefit from it because people will be coming to see the museum," said Clark Switze, Battle of Wyoming Soldier.

The Irem Heritage Center is expected to launch in 2025 in Wilkes-Barre.
