LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The gloomy weather didn't stop a rain rally in Luzerne County on Tuesday.
Hanover Area High School held the rally as part of their Spirit Week and helps support the Special Olympics.
The parking lot was filled with games, food, and music for kids with disabilities.
A firetruck even stopped by to bring the rain.
"It really just gives our kids with disabilities a chance to feel like they're part of the high school community, and it gives the non-disabled peers a chance to just really know that they can approach the kids with autism and with intellectual disabilities and just treat them just like equal peers," said Kim Franks, Life Skills Support Teacher.
Spirit Week continues with a homecoming parade and pep rally on Wednesday ahead of Friday's football game against Tunkhannock.
