DALLAS -- Usually police are dispatched to break up fights. This time, the trouble came to them.
Police in Dallas borough believe a man went to their police station not for help, but looking for trouble. When an officer went to greet him, the man started throwing punches…and pizza.
Police say they're familiar with him. In fact, they had pulled him over just last week.
"He's been around all week looking for trouble, I would say," Dallas Police Chief James Drury said.
Dallas police say Sean Mulloy, 44, of Dallas went to their police station on Main Street Thursday afternoon and tried wrapping a chain around the building.
"The officer was in here, heard it, and went outside. The man became belligerent and then just started to attack the officer," Drury added.
Police say Mulloy punched the officer and then threw a box full of pizza at him.
"The man was very--I don't know what was wrong with him, but very scary for everybody to be around," said Theresa Popioluk of Dallas.
People who saw the fight go down say the next thing that happened is Mulloy tried getting away by running down Main Street, but police caught up with him.
“The guy hit him a few times and the officer did not retaliate. He was just keeping his patience and his cool and that was impressive," added Popioluk.
Cell phone video shows what happened next: police used a stun gun on Mulloy until authorities were able to handcuff him.
Police say Mulloy has a history with them. Last week, an officer from Dallas stopped him on Route 309 near Route 415. They believe that's what set him off.
"We arrested him last week for driving under the influence and impounded his car," said Drury.
Mulloy is in custody, awaiting to be arraigned on aggravated assault and resisting arrest charges.
A Dallas police officer is in a nearby hospital, suffering from an injured elbow. He's the same officer who had stopped Mulloy last week.
