KINGSTON TOWNSHIP -- A man has died after a stabbing in Luzerne County.
It all happened just before 3 p.m. Sunday along Orchard Street in Kingston Township near Trucksville.
Kingston Township police said three people were stabbed. David Sinoracki, 45, died. His wife and 17-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
A family friend told Newswatch 16 a group of children was hanging out at the home when a teenage neighbor started stabbing people inside the house.
Investigators have confirmed they have the attacker in custody but declined to give any further details about the suspect.
A number of concerned friends and neighbors arriving to check on the kids who had been moved to a house nearby, and one of those children left with an adult.
People we spoke with say the situation is devastating.
“These are our neighbors. One of the daughters is best friends with my daughter. This is shocking to say it mildly. This is shocking,” said neighbor Bryn Kaufer.
Officers say they don't know why the suspect acted out. They want neighbors to be cautious and aware of what's going on around them.
"People should be wary of their surroundings, even in today's society, and keep their doors locked and really be conscious of their surroundings in the neighborhood and when they're out and about," Kingston Township Police Chief Michael Moravec said.
An autopsy for David Sinoracki is scheduled for Monday morning.
There is no word what charges, if any, will be coming for the suspect.
