PennDOT bridge inspections planned on I-81 in Luzerne County

The work in the northbound lanes is scheduled to continue until Tuesday.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Drivers in Luzerne County can expect to see delays on Interstate 81 north into next week.

PennDOT is inspecting bridges between the Dorrance Exit (155) and the Wilkes-Barre exit (168).

The work started on Thursday, and lane restrictions are scheduled to continue through Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

PennDOT asks that drivers travel at the posted speed limit, turn on headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, drivers are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
