LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Nearly a week after Primary Election Day, there is still no winner of the Republican nomination in the 117th District State House race in Luzerne County.
Challenger Jamie Walsh leads incumbent Mike Cabell by five votes.
Whoever wins the GOP Primary is likely to be the next state representative, as there is no Democrat running.
Newswatch 16 stopped by the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections, where members of the election board are still counting provisional ballots.
The Cabell Campaign says 37 of the ballots are from the 117th District, but it's not clear what party they are from.
Luzerne County expects the process to continue throughout the week.
