NANTICOKE, Pa. — A magistrate in Luzerne County denied bail for a woman accused by Nanticoke police of cutting two people with a steak knife.
Rhianna Garcia, 29, remained jailed Wednesday at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, five days after Magisterial District Judge Brian J. Tupper declined to grant her bail because she was a "threat to the public," according to a court docket.
Nanticoke police said Garcia cut the hands of two people during a fight Friday at a home in the borough. That fight broke out because she was upset she could not get a ride to a dentist appointment.
Garcia is charged with four felony counts of aggravated assault and two misdemeanor counts of simple assault. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday next week.
The case's docket sheet does not reflect that she has an attorney.
