Millions in state budget for businesses

Governor Josh Shapiro made a stop in Luzerne County on Friday to tout the recently signed state budget.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The governor stopped in Duryea on Friday at the Production Systems Automation factory to tout the recently signed state budget.

More than 500 million dollars will help the state grow more competitively with jobs, better pay, and more businesses. 20 million will go toward the Main Street Matters Program to help small businesses. PSA currently has 92 workers and is one of the 7,000 small businesses in Luzerne County with fewer than 100 employees. They say this money will go a long way.

"The future is bright. With the development of these additional buildings, we will able to support our three locations, grow our current clients, launch our depot business for the army, and start manufacturing state-of-the-art satellite systems," said Michael McHale, President & CEO of Production Systems Automation.

With the support of this budget, the PSA in Duryea says it will also hire 100 new employees over the next 36 months in Luzerne County.
