PITTSTON, Pa. — UPDATE WEDNESDAY: Terik Wiggins was back in court on Wednesday. His bail has been revoked, and he will remain in jail until his sentencing, now scheduled for June 13.
Original story:
A warrant has been issued for a man who failed to show up for an animal cruelty sentencing in Luzerne County.
Terik Wiggins pleaded guilty in March to animal cruelty charges. He was supposed to be sentenced on those charges Tuesday.
Wiggins is one of the people who dumped the pit bull mix, now known as Nova. The dog was found covered in fleas and starving in Pittston in June 2021.
Pittston police charged Wiggins and Shaniqwa Scott in February 2023.
Nova has since been adopted by Pittston's former police chief.
