LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A man accused in the shooting death of his girlfriend has been sentenced to state prison.
Scott Oliver, 31, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder on Monday. He was immediately sentenced to 17 and a half to 40 years in state prison.
Investigators accused Oliver of shooting Jessica Romano, 35, on January 3, 2023, inside a home on Woodhaven Drive in Foster Township, between Freeland and White Haven. Romano died at the hospital.
Police found Oliver hiding in a vacant house near the crime scene the next day.
