NANTICOKE, Pa. — A Luzerne County man will spend up to 30 years in prison after pleading no contest to homicide charges.
Kevin Novak was charged with shooting and killing his father, Richard Novak, at their home along South Prospect Street in Nanticoke in March of 2022.
Novak said he and his father got into an argument, and his father made threats, so Novak shot him.
Following his no-contest plea on Tuesday, Kevin was sentenced to spend between 12 and 30 years behind bars in Luzerne County.
A no-contest plea means Novak does not admit guilt but agrees to be sentenced as if he did.
