WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A Luzerne County jury says a man from Wilkes-Barre orchestrated the killing of a woman.
Jurors returned guilty verdicts against James Alberto on a slew of charges, including first-degree murder.
Prosecutors say Alberto, 35, ordered the 2021 murder of Judith Comisky.
Another man, Charles Bierly, 23, admitted to stabbing and shooting the victim inside her Willow Street home. He pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in May.
Investigators say Alberto wanted Comisky dead because he thought she would testify against him in a drug case.
Alberto will be sentenced in January.
