Man charged after gunfire in Luzerne County

Stephen Danko faces reckless endangerment and related charges after police say he fired shots at three people at a home in Sugarloaf Township Tuesday morning.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Led by police in handcuffs, Stephen Danko of Luzerne County was arraigned on several charges after police say he shot at three people Tuesday afternoon.

According to court paperwork, an Uber driver drove Danko's girlfriend, roommate, and another friend to his home along Rock Hill Drive in Sugarloaf Township.

When they arrived, Danko's girlfriend said he pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot her.

That's when police say Danko fired shots in their direction.

His girlfriend, friend, and Uber driver left the home and called the police.

While en route to the home, police say another call came in from Danko's roommate, who retreated to her room before the fight started.

The roommate told police Danko kicked down her door, pointed a gun at her, and threatened to kill her.

Once they arrived, police say Danko admitted to firing a gun at the victims because they were on his property.

Police later found the pistol, shell casings, and drug paraphernalia around the home.

Danko was arrested and charged with four misdemeanor counts, including terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Danko's bail was set at $50,000. He is locked up in Luzerne County.
