WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A man who shot a business owner in Luzerne County in May of last year has been arrested.
United States Marshall announced the arrest of 34-year-old Julio Rivas of Wilkes-Barre on Friday morning. Rivas was located and arrested in the 10 block of Elizabeth Street in Wilkes-Barre without incident and turned over to the Wilkes-Barre Police.
Rivas faces aggravated assault and related offenses charges after allegedly shooting the owner of the New Flow barbershop at Carey Avenue and Academy Street.
Witnesses near the scene told Newswatch 16 that Rivas came into the barbershop looking for a drink and shot a barber. The victim was taken to the hospital after the bullet struck his leg.
