A Luzerne County man will spend at least three decades in prison for shooting another man in 2020 and for robbing someone in 2018.

Wayne White was sentenced Monday to a total of 399 months to 798 months behind bars, according to a court order. That means he could spend more than 30 years in prison before he's eligible for release. Luzerne County President Judge Michael T. Vough credited White with 1,271 days of time he's already spent in jail, the order stated.

White, 51, was charged with attempted homicide for shooting a man, Michael Paris, in Plymouth on Aug. 27, 2020. Paris's wounds were not life-threatening and he drove himself to a house several blocks away to await an ambulance.

U.S. Marshals arrested White, of Wilkes-Barre, nearly three weeks later in Philadelphia.

The judge also sentenced White for a robbery police say he committed in Wilkes-Barre in December 2018. White was ordered to pay the victim in that case $200 in restitution.
