WILKES-BARRE -- Newswatch 16 has confirmed that a Luzerne County corrections officer and an inmate are dead.
Investigators said there was some kind of altercation involving the two at the Luzerne County Correction Facility around 6 p.m. Monday.
County manager Dave Pedri said state police and county officials are investigating.
Pedri said they "will do whatever it takes to make sure this never happens again."
The jail is currently on lockdown.
