HAZLETON, Pa. — The sound of an alarm scattered a group of armed men who broke into an apartment Saturday in Luzerne County, police said Monday.
The burglary happened shortly after 8 p.m. at an apartment building on the 400 block of South Poplar Street in Hazleton.
There, police learned several armed men broke in and corralled occupants into one unit. Then, an alarm started to sound and the armed suspects fled the scene, police said in a statement.
A spokesperson for the department did not have more information on the incident Monday.
Descriptions of the assailants were not available. It was not clear what they sought.
A police investigation into the burglary remained ongoing.
