LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A university in Luzerne County held an event that benefits a student battling cancer.
Misericordia University junior Madison Gross was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The 'For The Kids' (FTK) event included basket raffles, dodgeball games, dunk tanks, and more.
Other students say they are glad to be able to help Madison.
"It's like a full circle moment because she was all hands on deck helping me start it. I came here by myself. I didn't know how to start it or what to do. And she helped me with everything she knew in campus to get started here. And now the fact that the second one's for her, it's incredible that it's full circle. Like she helped me here, and now all of it is going towards her, and she's an incredible person. So it's a really good cause," said Nicholas Wilde, Misericordia University senior.
All the profits from the event in Luzerne County will go toward helping Madison in her cancer battle.
